Genre : Young Adult
Publisher : Penguin Books Ltd, 2015.

In her first debut for young adult readers Niven gives us a story of two broken teenagers,Violet Markey and Theodore Finch. It is to quote the book directly ,"The story of a girl who learns to live from a boy who wants to die".

SYNOPSIS :
Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him.
Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death. When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself and it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink. How far will Violet go to save the boy she has come to love?

MY VIEWS  :
All the bright places is my first read by the author Jennifer Niven . I picked up this book with a lot of expectations and it did meet them to some extent but not wholly. Personally,i found a lot of resemblance in its content with some of the y/a novels i had already read before, not particularly naming them but i'm pretty sure there are a lot of readers who think the same way i do . The plot too ,did run slow at times and i did think it would've been a much fantastic read if the other characters were developed as much as the mains .
Leaving the faults aside, i absolutely adored the way Niven found a way to make the young adult readers aware of such an important topic such as Mental illness and how great a deal it is to tackle it in all the right ways that there are and the love between Theodore and Violet is something that kept me going for more . Theodore ,mainly! And did i tell you? I fell in love with him !
He makes you laugh ,cry and feel the feels all of them at once. And although being predictable as it is from the very beginning it is beautifully written and very honest. A tale of love , loss , hope and mostly ,a tale of the power love holds and its beauty !

I recommend this to anyone looking for something that'll make you cry and something you still want to read after  having gone through my review .
Big love ♡

I'm rating this book a :

 4.5/5 ☆'s
(Definately going to my "Favourite" list)
